Genesis 1

1. Genesis 1:1-3

   Jesus reads the opening of Genesis in the synagogue at Sychar.

   1. 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
   2. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
   3. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

2. Genesis 1:2

   Appears in: S2:E1 — Thunder (06:48-06:55)

   John quotes the description of the earth being formless and void when discussing his book's beginning with Mary.
